    Carlo Collodi: A Literary Journey

    Early Life and Influences

Carlo Collodi, born Carlo Lorenzini on November 24, 1826, in Florence, is renowned for his iconic children's tale "The Adventures of Pinocchio: Story of a Puppet." He adopted the pseudonym "Collodi" in 1856, inspired by the Tuscan village where his mother was born.

    Military Service and Journalism

During the Italian Wars of Independence in 1848 and 1860, Collodi served as a volunteer in the Tuscan army.

Following this, he pursued a career in journalism, contributing to various newspapers. His satirical essay-novel "A Romance in a Railroad Car" (1856) brought him early recognition.
